Martin Schmidt is a “Lake Shaker” from day one and for that reason (among others) a friend of the house and permanent act in the program at almost all of the festivals up to now. No one better demonstrates how an artist can richly develop his stage show over the years. After a two-year festival break his performance this year will be even more exciting. Originally coming from the deep earthy Blues and Boogie Woogie, Martin’s repertoire extends through Jazz, R&B, Harlem Stride even to Cabaret elements. The new Martin Schmitt is still the old: Bayern Roots meets Blues act as one can tell on his new album “Aufbassn”.
